Lisa Ellis is the Principal of Ellis Law, LLC. She has over 24 years of experience practicing law in Washington. She concentrates her practice on estate planning, guardianships, probate, special needs trusts and Medicaid planning. Whether she is assisting estate planning clients with tax considerations, representing clients in probates or guardianships, or assisting clients with long-term care, disability and special needs planning, Lisa takes an individualized and holistic approach. Lisa combines her experience in elder law and estate planning with her background working with older persons with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and those in need of planning.
Lisa is a third generation Washingtonian. Before practicing estate planning and elder law, Lisa worked for as an attorney advisor for the U.S. Department of Justice, a position she entered through The Attorney General’s Honors Program. She was a federal law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. She was an associate at a downtown Seattle law firm during which time she was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2011. Lisa founded Ellis Law, LLC in 2013.
Lisa has been selected as a Super Lawyer in 2023, 2024 and 2025. She has the highest rating, Superb 10.0/10.0 by Avvo. She is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and Washington Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (WAELA).
Lisa Ellis graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law where she was an executive editor of The Oregon Law Review and she received her B.A. degree from Whitman College. She was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2000.
She volunteers at the Eastside Legal Assistance Project. When not spending time with her family, she enjoys group fitness classes, traveling and gardening.
